iv. THE RECITATION THAT IS LIKE A BROKEN BEEHIVE

The fourth type of recitation is likened to a broken beehive and relates to the practice of great accomplishment. In this approach limitless rays of light stream forth from the deity and mantra chain, purifying the entire universe into luminosity and transforming it into a pure celestial palace. All sentient beings inhabiting the universe are purified as well. Their karma, disturbing emotions, and suffering are purified, as is the conceptual fixation they have towards ordinary things. They then transform into the maṇḍala of deities. All sounds that are heard transform into the natural resounding of secret mantra, humming like a broken beehive, while all the thoughts and memories that occur in the mind transform into the play of the dharmakāya—the wisdom of bliss, clarity, and nonthought. This is the recitation of the nonduality of self and other, which should be performed within a state of nonfixation.

As there is no fixed rule dictating that one must apply these four styles of recitation concurrently, it follows that you should practice whichever of these four is emphasized in your particular practice.
